Blaine Mengel, Jr. hosts BACKWOODS ANGLER TV.
Blaine is owner of The Backwoods Angler Guide Service in Eastern, PA since 1999.  He spends close to 200 days annually fishing and boating the pristine waters of the middle Delaware River.  Blaine cut his teeth pursuing trout from the streams of Northampton and Monroe Counties in Eastern PA.  In 1999, he decided, with the help of some dear friends, to leave the medical field and pursue his dream and fish for a living.  He’s tangled with Peacock Bass in Hawaii, Northwestern Ontario Northern Pike, and Maine smallmouth bass.
Blaine is a freelance writer for The Reading Eagle Newspaper and New Jersey Angler Magazine.  He has authored two books; The Delaware River Smallmouth Bass Fishing Handbook, Volumes 1 and 2. He was fishing editor for The Outdoor Adventurer for more than 3 years, and has been featured in Bassin’ and In-Fishermen magazines.  He also does numerous seminars and speaking engagements annually.  Blaine resides in Eastern PA and is the father  of  three  lovely  daughters.

BACKWOODS ANGLER TV, a multi-species fishing television show produced by Christopher G. Manley in Eastern Pennsylvania and new member of the NBC Sports Group, is the next generation in outdoor fishing television.  Outdoor/fishing enthusiasts prefer programs engaged to their own lifestyles and interests. Backwoods Angler TV appeals to all levels of angling enthusiasts by combining a mixture of river, stream, lake and pond shows with which most anglers can relate, and this is how we distinctly set ourselves apart.  No other show on NBC Sports/VERSUS focuses on the tremendous fisheries in the Northeastern US.  We profile some of the most prolific bass and walleye lakes that are within just a few hours of the most densely populated metro areas in the Eastern US, where folks will buy your product.  And being pioneers in river smallmouth bass fishing from jet outboards on some of the most treacherous rivers in the East, we boost the adventure with shows targeting smallmouth, walleye and trout on outstanding rivers that have rarely reached the national TV screen…….until now!

Host Blaine Mengel, Jr.’s specialty is entertaining and educating viewers in an easy-to-understand, enthusiastic and down-to-earth manner.  Viewers will accompany Blaine to the Northeastern US's finest rivers, streams, ponds and lakes in hot pursuit of bass, trout, walleye and much more!  From Lakes Erie, Oneida and Champlain to the Susquehanna, Delaware, Allegheny and Potomac Rivers, and MANY waters in between, Backwoods Angler TV will take you there!  Catch It ALL Here!
